The goal of the Charles Dickens Library is to give public access to a vast collection of reading material, and to be an information center for different areas of knowledge, primarily in the English language. The Library also pretends to be a place for reading and research, where students from the Institute and from the Conservatory can further develop the skills acquired during class.
Stael Ruffinelli de Ortiz – English is proud to be a multi-cultural center, where each Culture finds not only an area for expression, but also participates in the inter-ethnical exchange. Thus, the Charles Dickens Library specializes in reference books about several English speaking countries, as well as classic works from great English writing authors.
Among the existing categories, it is worth to mention that there are children stories in English, and books on pedagogy and didactic technologies. The quantity and range of material allows for the furtherance of the students’ learning process.
Since there are different specific categories, every student has the possibility to enjoy books on topics of his or her interest, age, and language acquisition level. To visit the Charles Dickens Library is to be exposed to the cultural diversity of the English-speaking world.
